Research type study
Annotation The study focuses on the offer of press and audio-visual media for children and youth and questions of the position of media in child′s life, child′s relation to TV and magazines, children′s media use. Children are legitimately considered as a target group easily influenced by media. Mass media use occupies frontal places at the scale of children′s leisure-time activities. Despite the ratings we should not overestimate the influence of mass media on young people′s lifes. The average rate of influence does not go over 3% in any observed fields (political opinions and attitudes are the most influenced by mass media, rate 6,7%). The most watched is TV screening, followed by radio and newspaper. For the needs of analysis the sample of children was in the age from 3 years up to 15/16 years, depending on the grade of school attendance.
