Annotation |
The research is based on quantitative questionnaire survey and qualitative technique of face-to-face interviews. The sample of 1298 respondents is composed of scouts and citizens of the Czech Republic between 14-79 years of age. The respondents were selected on the basis of quota sampling. Quotas for the selection of respondents are following: sex, age, education, place of residence, region. Interviews were made between 4 May and 3 June 2001 throughout the Czech Republic. The objective of the research was to compare value orientations of scouts and other czech czech population. A need to live in peace, without risks, to have good family and friends as well as interesting work is considered to be the most important values both by scouts and other people. However some values such as for example socio-political participation, protection of enviroment, and acting according to spiritual values and moral principles that are considered to be more important by Scouts then other population.
