Annotation | The objective of a research is to find out and support the measure of involvement of children and youth in affaires they are immediately concerned with . The research focused at evaluation and attitudes of children and youth towards family, school, policy, security, law, watching TV and use of drugs. The research, in which 417 respondents at the age of 9-17 participated, showed that the majority of Czech children feel to be happy in their family and safe in their social enviroment (friends, school, town, state). The majority of children have good relations with their parents and trust them. Moral behavior, responsability and tolerance are considered to be main values by the children. Many children face quarrels in their families, but just the minority of them encounter physical violence. The children evaluate positively schools they attend and give credence to their teachers. Apart from parents and teachers, doctors enjoy their confidence. On the contrary, Czech goverment and the Church are evaluated negatively. Although the children are interested in „participation“ in school and leisure time activities, they claim that their opinions are not sufficiently taken into consideration by goverment.Their awarness of children law is not high.Their future expectations are mostly positive, children suppose that their lives will be better then lives of their parents. |
