Summary of partial results of inquiry of present state and ways of implementation of indentification support and development policy for the cognitively gifted interested in scientific and technical disciplines in the CR and selected European countries

Annotation | The inquiry maps the present state of cognitively gifted youth interested in scientific and technical disciplines in the Czech republic and outlines the ways of their identification and development support. The main objective of the inquiry is to identify the deficiencies and potencial reserves in the Czech republic in term of sustainable realisation of educational and "identification" activities for the congitively gifted. The report stresses a necessity of further development support for these activities at local, regional and national level with a posibility to integrate the gifted into international projects. A partial goal of the inquiry is to bring in data about system maintanence of the gifted in selected countries of the European Union (particularly in Slovakia, Great Britain, Netherlands,Germany and France) and compare European approaches and solutions with those in the Czech republic. Pursuant to obtained information, the inquiry attempts to make a proposal of possible approches and priorities of solutions to the problem in the Czech republic whereas taking into account inclusion of the national activities into international projects. As it ensued from the inquiry, the Czech republic in contrast to other Europen countries is facing to insufficent methodical and organisational support of systematic work with the gifted pupils in schools and non-existence of system of their identification and further development. The report also emphasized a necessity of creating educational facilities for teacher´s and consultant´s exchange of experience and of synergic upgrading of education and support of leisure time activities. |
