Annotation	The research attempts to elucidate causes of interethnic conflicts, i.e. conflicts with racial implications.. As these delicts are multidimensional, it is not possible to formulate a definite conclusion about its causes. Analyses were conducted at three main levels: legal, sociological and psychological. The theoretical part focuses on the study of phenomenons such as prejudices, authoritarian type of personality, offenders´ typology, theory of unacknowledgement and harm and processes of group dynamics. The empirical part comes up with an analysis of racially motivated delicts in the periode 1997 – 2001 and an analysis of presentation of these delicts and discrimination in Media. A questionnaire investigation among students of the Czech Police Academy adverted to a considerable manifestation of xenophobia among the students.
