Annotation | The research about habit-forming drug use amoung the youth has been carried out by A clubs CZ every year since 1997. Archived data from previous researches are used for the purpose of comparison. This year, there were 1836 respondents at the age 11-20 years from 19 different schools from Brno participating in the research. The comparison with the research results from last years shows that the percentage of pupils using a habit-forming drug has been decreased (2006-39%, 2007 -34%, 2009 32,9%). The research results from 2009 confirm a trend of decreasing or stagnating habit-forming drug use amoung the youth ascertained by International European Research of students ESPAD. This year´s research showed that almost 79% of respondents get personal experience with habit-forming drug. There is 68, 1% of respondents at the age of 13 getting the first experience with cigarettes (93, 9% at the age of 15; 100% at the age of 20). The majority of respondents (82, 5%) come into contact with alcohol for the first time at the age of 14 (99% at the age of 16). The report for EU: Alcohol in Europe, 2006 (Anderson, P. and Baumberg, B.) ascertains similar data: „almost all students at the age 15-16 (< 90%) got their experience with alcohol, they came into contact with alcohol for the first time at the age of 12½ and got drank at the age of 14“(Anderson, Baumberg 2006:5). |
