Overview of information about violence among the youth: trends, strategies and reactions in the European Union member countries

Annotation	This study deals with problems of violence among the youth in Europe and has three main objectives: 1) to evaluate trends in the field of violence among the youth in the EU countries, 2) to provide an overview of criminal preventive and interventional strategies aimed against violence among the youth in 15 different countries, that were members of the European Union in January 2004, and 3) to provide information about effective programs and precautions. Three research methods were used in order to achieve these goals: 1) belles-lettres, 2) analysis of statistic data concerning the trends in the field of violence among the youth, 3)inquiry among European respondents concerning the problem of violence among the youth.
