Annotation The research aimed to map the awareness of dyslexia among population groups which form social, emotional, and educational background of individuals with dyslexia. I.e. they might either positively or negatively affect dyslexics’ development and their search for efficient modifications of school and/or every-day demands. The target group involved: teachers from standard classes and from specialized dyslexic classes, parents of intact pupils and parents of pupils with dyslexia, students of primary education and students of medicine, comprehensive secondary school students, and both intact pupils and pupils with dyslexia at elementary schools. They all were approached via questionnaire. Even though the results showed significantly better knowledge of dyslexia among groups which were personally and/or professionally closely linked with the matter, the awareness of dyslexia still appeared to be rather low and insufficient.
