Annotation | The present thesis is about online sexuality among Czech internet users, with the special focus on adolescents. In the research consisting of six studies I focused on online sexuality in relation to offline sexual behavior, characteristics of users who have experience with online sexuality, and finally on the particularities of online sexuality in the Czech Republic. Generally, it has been found that sexually related online activities are positively interconnected with offline sexual experiences. Specifically, at the level of sexual behavior Czech adolescents do not use the internet for sexual purposes in a compensatory way. It seems the internet clearly expands opportunities to acquire sexually related experiences or sexual information, yet some of them might be unwanted. |
