Gender differences in spoken and written language of lower secondary school pupils as the current problem of contemporary education

Annotation	The dissertation thesis deals with aspects of gender in written and spoken language of girls and boys, pupils at lower secondary school. The basis for the stated research aim is presented in a theoretical part of, based on Czech and foreign scientific literature focused on the description of gender differences.We analyze the evolution of gender issues in relation to theories of gender and gender studies, also we point out the reach of gender issues into other scientific fields and disciplines as an expression of topicality of the issue. We emphasize the relationship of gender and language within the constructivist approach and introduce substantial research reflecting gender differences in language. We focus on the area of the stylistics of the Czech language. The empirical part is based on quantitatively oriented research paradigm. The survey, whose target group are pupils of the 8th and 9 class at lower secondary school is based on linguistic analysis of spoken and written language of girls and boys of school. The results obtained by means of research offer some recommendations for teaching practice in terms of language culture improvement. On the basis of theoretical knowledge and empirical research findings we present set of ideas and recommendations for educational theory and practice.
