How pupils of elementary and secondary school choose their further educational and work career?

| Annotation | The publication summarizes the most important aspects of career decisions of teenagers found out by means of questionnaires carried out at spring 2011 in Prague, Pilsen region, Usti region and Moravian -Silesian region. The sample of informants covers 1655 pupils of elementary school and 935 pupils of secondary school. The publication provides a survey of facts concerning questions what is a role of education, parents, broader family, friends, careers advisers, employment officers, or pedagogical-psychological clinic, information provided by school and other information sources (such as TV, internet, face book etc.) in a process of decision making about future educational career of today’s teenagers? The questionnaires also take into account a pupils degree of awareness about information sources aimed at career decision and measure of its benefits. The research report brings new challenges to career counselling. |
