Annotation The aim of the study was to analyze a sedentary lifestyle with a focus on passive leisure time (time spent watching television and computers) in school-age children in the Czech Republic. With the development of modern information technology in the last 10 years significantly increased the number of children who spend two or more hours a day computers in all age categories. Sedentary behavior and together with inadequate levels of physical activity is becoming a major risk factor for chronic non-communicable diseases and must be in addition to interventions to increase physical activity levels of pay separate attention. To determine the time spent in front of television and computer screen was used data randomly selected set of 11 to 15-year-old elementary school pupils of the Czech Republic. More than 55% of girls and 60% boys spend during the week before screen TV, DVD or video, more than 2 hours a day, as well as spend more than two hours a day at the computer screen.
