Annotation The aim of the study was to explore specific aspects of attitudes towards money and a general shift in the group of current university students. The theoretical part is based on the knowledge of economic anthropology, inspires but also an economic concept of money and compares both approaches, also deals with the implicit assumptions of the functioning of the monetary system, especially confidence in the value of money and the institutions that guarantee it. The theoretical part concludes with a chapter on the specific features of the present young generation with regard to their attitudes towards money. The second section describes the methodological process of research. The practical part summarizes and discusses the main findings of research and interpreting them in the light of theoretical knowledge. The analysis showed that money represents for today's young generation not only a medium of exchange, but also to acquire other, more abstract entities. Specifics of the attitudes of contemporary college students also consist primarily of distinguishing the symbolic value of money earned by work and received a gift from her parents.
