Nontraditional students are defined as those coming from smaller municipalities having only elementary or secondary education, whose fathers are the most often workmen On the other hand, traditional students comes from bigger municipalities, studying at University whose parents are usually well educated. As the research showed, both type of the students have different expectations, socio-economic conditions for studies and different experience with studies abroad. The research also disclosed that student´s family background influences significantly a choice of an academic discipline. Children whose parents have University degree tend to choose human sciences and law.
