Situation of Young People with Limited Opportunities in the Czech Republic

Annotation The aim of the project is to give an overview of life and possibilities of young people with social or physical handicap living in the Czech Republic.The research aimed at facilities of handicaped young people for housing, education, employment, leisure time activities, and their relation to major population. The research employed both quantitative and qualitative methods and there were 429 respondents at the age of 18-26 participated. The research disclosed that physically handicaped young people face several problems such as barrier-free access, possibility to study at common schools, to find appropriate accommodation and employment. On the other hand, young people with social handicap miss family background and some of the social skills and due to these factors they are low educated and consequently highly unemployed.
