Research type monograph
Annotation The monograph deals with attitudes towards marriage, unmarried cohabitation, parenthood and the role of men and women in the family in the Czech society in the last decade. Based on data from the ISSP Family and Gender Role Survey from 1994 and 2002, it analyzes the evolution of attitudes to this issue over the last decade and differentiates attitudes in different social groups, especially by age, education, gender and marital status. The results of sociological surveys on attitudes are complemented by an analysis of changes in demographic behavior in the Czech Republic of the 1990s. Attention is also paid to the situation of Czech society in the European context. Therefore, the thesis also focuses on the comparison of the attitudes of the Czech population with the attitudes of both the inhabitants of other post-socialist countries and those of other European countries.
