Annotation This master thesis deals with emocionality and sociability of gifted children in pre-school age. At theoretical level it outlines researches and theories in this field, a definition of gift and talent, main characteristics of the gifted children and their identification on the part of their parents, teachers and psychologists. Theoretical part also focuses on social and emotional development of these children and related problems (such as their self-esteem, perfectionism, high sensibility) and the confront the knowledge with a research in kindergartens in Brno. The research focuses on question how the gifted children differ from their peers both in positive and negative terms, and how parents, teachers and majority society approach them. The research aimed at parents of gifted children and teachers and employed both quantitative (questionnaires) and qualitative (semi-structured interviews and observations) methods of research. The research attempted to compare results of international researches about gifted children in school age and adoslescents, and find out awarness and approach of parents and teachers to the gifted children.
