Annotation The overview monography is focused on psychological specifics of intelectually gifted pupils, whose skills are hidden due to a paralel existence of learning disability, i.e. dyslexia. This book surveys the genesis of international research interest in these problems and pays a special attention to the process of psychological diagnostics and pedagogical idetification of gifted children. The book also aims at a description of barriers and stereotypical approaches empeding the identification of gifted children. The author also gives an overview of typical cognitive, social and emotional characteristics of the gifted children and draws attention to significant risks linked to a mistaken or insufficient identification.
