A perception of chemistry by pupils of the second grade of an elementary school

Annotation The research concerns attitudes of primary school pupil´s toward chemistry. An influence of gender, particular achieved grade, general attitudes of pupil´s to chemistry were taken into account. Given research sample included 379 pupils of second grade from eight Czech elementary schools. Boys and girls ratio was quite balanced. As a research tool, a questionnaire with 25 scale items of Likert´s type was used. By employing factor analysis, particular items were divided into four categories: interest in chemistry; importance of chemistry; chemistry and future life; chemical experiments
