Annotation |
The dissertation thesis deals with the emotional expressivity of adolescents and its connections with perceived emotional relationship of mother and father, and adolescents´ personality characteristics. The overview of theoretical framework attends to enquiries of emotions and emotional development with emphasis on development of emotional expressivity. It focuses on determinants of emotional development, primarily the roles of parents in socialization process in family and children´s temperament. The purpose of the thesis was to examine psychometric characteristics of scales for measurement of positive and negative expressivity and subsequently to explore relations between emotional relationship of mothers and fathers and their adolescents’ emotional expressivity and personality characteristics. The research originates from international longitudinal study ELSPAC and it is carried out on its participants. The result of psychometric investigation is a compilation of adapted version of Positive expressivity scale and Negative expressivity scale. The results of analysis of relations between observed variables confirm a specific role of mothers and fathers in affecting emotional expressivity of adolescent boys and girls. |
