Current situation of environmental education in grammar schools - selected aspecst of environmental literacy of primary school children

| Annotation | The subject of the thesis are selected aspects of environmental literacy as a result of environmental education at primary school. The theoretical part presents the base of environmental education with the focus to environmental literacy. "Environmental literacy" is defined (on the basis of Czech and foreign literature) and also its components are presented. For a more comprehensive view the development of environmental education is introduced and documents enabling environmental education implementation. We also offer the possibilities of implementation of environmental education at primary school. The questionnaire survey IS presented in the empirical part. The questionnaire survey examined knowledge, attitude, focus of control and pro-environmental behavior of pupils. Schools deepening environmental education and the other schools are separated. Schools are taken from Olomouc and Zlín region. The used tool was consisting of the scale of the New Environmental Paradigm (NEP) and inspired by the instrument "Middle School Environmental Literacy Instrument". Also the link between teachers' personality characteristics and their emphasis on the individual components of environmental literacy in the teaching in connection with the results of the components of their students' environmental literacy of were examined. |
