Annotation The thesis pays attention to the specifics of the family, complete and incomplete, its relationship to the school, which is taken from the perspective of the institution. There are also defined basic categories, such as school, communication, cooperation between family and school and its forms, but also an analysis of options that schools can use to communicate with parents. The practical part is focused on the finding of the relationship between the completeness of the family and the quality of its communications with the school. The questionnaire survey conducted on a sample of classroom teachers and parents of elementary school pupils Náchod-Plhov showed that the complete family and its communication with the school is not a significant difference. Results obtained at a primary school can not be generalized, but it can be understood as an incentive for the execution of research in a larger sample of respondents and as an indicator of expected communication between parents and the school.
