Parental evenings (Methods of communication between school and parents)

Annotation The aim of the thesis is to find out whether they are parents, children and teachers in the Czech environment satisfied with the traditional model of parental evenings because these meetings remains the model in most cases the same as it was many years ago. The author compares these meetings in the Czech Republic and the UK, as she worked there for some time. Recently, there is an increasing topic of communication between school and home, because school ceases to be only the place of implementation of the educational process. The first part discusses the pedagogical communication in general about its effectiveness, principles and methods. It summarizes the current situation and a way of organizing parental evenings not only in Czech Republic but also in Great Britain. The second section describes the methods of observation and interview the selected schools, the results of individual interviews with pupils, teachers and parents, including their summary.
