Annotation The thesis is focused on the integration of children with disabilities in mainstream schools, particularly in Vsetin and teaching assistant. The theoretical part is devoted to definitions of basic concepts - the profession of a teacher, teaching assistant, his competence and personal qualities. In addition, this section focuses on forms of integration of pupils into schools, the role of school counseling centers and individual educational plan. The practical part aims to determine the attitudes of parents of children with disabilities and parents of children without disabilities to the teaching assistant in the educational process. The aim was to compare the results obtained by individual groups. The author is the development of his work convinced that the majority of children with disabilities can be successfully educated in mainstream schools, even children with mild intellectual disabilities. The exception in its opinion, constitute, children and pupils with moderate, heavy and profound intellectual disabilities.
