Pre-school education and its importance for the development of language and speech

Annotation This publication is dedicated to pre-school education and highlights its importance in the development of language, speech and communication of preschool children. The first chapter is devoted to early childhood education from a historical perspective, but also the current concept of preschool education. The second chapter deals with the development of language and speech of preschool age. There are presented the results of research in the field of language and speech of preschool children. Examined were 100 preschool children before entering the first grade of primary school from four kindergartens in Olomouc by methods observation and interview. For this research showed that the overall level of competence observed preschool children in language and speech reaches the level of 86.80%. This publication is intended for professional and lay public, especially to those skilled in pre-school education, students of the relevant field of study and to teachers in kindergartens.
