The effects of media usage on child development

Annotation The article deals with the negative effect of television viewing on multiple domains of child development including language, cognition and of attention capacity, quality of sleep and children's concentration in school. A lot of children from the earliest age spends a lot of time watching television or other electronic media. It is also associated with increasing aggression and obesity pandemic. The author points out the efforts of some foreign companies to create educational programs such as Brainy Baby for infants and toddlers. There have been many studies that have confirmed that these programs teach children anything, it's just a huge financial gains. The amount of time that children spend 6-8leté creative play, in the last period of declining dramatically. Negative impact on children's development has been repeatedly scientifically documented. The article contains several basic recommendations for parents.
