Annotation	The work is devoted to research the positive and negative effects of information technology on youth. The theoretical part of monitoring the development of information technology and the Internet to today's easy access to the user. Main part of the theoretical division is primarily a description of social networks and analyzing the most popular network Facebook. An important part of the preview to influence youth network is to identify social maturity in various stages of adolescence, priority driving forces in adolescence or method of communication. The practical part presents the results of research, which focused primarily on the reasons for setting up the network, the time that young people spend on networks, adherence to security measures, the use of the Czech language on the network. Research has shown that social networks are an important part of children's lives. Founded profile has 96% of respondents and 48% of them would have failed to cancel. The most frequently reported activity is chat and open answers to many answers related to solidarity with friends, the ability to communicate and evening.
