Truancy of children from socially excluded localities as manifestation of their attitudes to school education

Annotation This thesis deals with the attitudes of Roma pupils from socially excluded localities to school education and truancy. The theoretical part presents findings and concepts from the field of truancy, and deals with the problems of socially excluded localities. Following the issue of education of Roma children from the perspective of the possible causes for their educational problems - from reasons on the part of the family, through personal causes individuals to factors on the side of the school. The practical part is to investigate the factors influencing the attitudes of Roma children to school education and truancy, and between these factors to find connections. The research results show that the central sticking point schooling of Roma children from socially excluded localities is internal conflict unspoken needs of these children with the needs of the institutions represented school teachers. This thesis applies only to the specific research participants and is not intended to generalize the results to all members of the Roma minority, or all residents of socially excluded localities.
