The Role of Multimedia in Science Education

Annotation The main aim of this study is to present multimedia as a suitable tool for teaching science in accordance with mostly recommended didactic methods. Recently, there has been a significant decline in interest in natural science among all European countries, teachers of natural sciences to searching for new, more effective and more attractive learning methods and teaching approaches. As one of the suitable means to approach teaching pupils are considered multimedia, or the appropriate implementation of various types of media in teaching with regard to the didactic content knowledge and students' needs. The advantage of multimedia tools is that they allow teachers to use in classroom teaching styles and different ways of communicating technical content. Multimedia play an important role also in the question of motivation that today's students need a relatively large dose. Combinations of multimedia presentations, činnostního teaching and learning traditional techniques can also be valuable in assisting example. Inquiry-based learning and teaching as a whole
