Annotation The bachelor thesis describes in the first part the notion of human capital and presents the theories of employment. It focuses primarily on the definition of human capital and on the means of its measurement. Further, the first part of the thesis deals with the definitions of employment and unemployment, and with the problems of the state connected to finding out, and keeping the correct records of, the rate of unemployment.The second part of the thesis stresses the importance of education and presents closer description of the educational system of Czech Republic. The crucial part of the part is devoted to the analysis of the returns on investment in the university education. The increase in the number of graduates from universities and their employability after studies are examined and processed by statistical methods.
