The Influence of Teaching Assistant on Relationships in the Classroom with a Student with ADHD

Annotation This thesis focuses on identifying the influence of teaching assistant on relationships in a classroom with a student with ADHD. The theoretical part analyzes attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and describes a profession of teaching assistant. The paper also discusses the issue of classroom climate and relations in the classroom. The research sample consists of three classes of primary schools. Students with ADHD are integrated in the selected classes. Teaching assistants are absent in these environments in the 2013/2014 academic year. They are assigned to these classes for the following academic year. In order to prove the difference, a research was conducted before the arrival of teaching assistants and after. A survey was carried out on all of the students in the classrooms. For this purpose, the questionnaires B-3 and B-4 were used. Furthermore, teachers of the classes were interviewed. The aim is to find out what the influence of teaching assistant is on the status of a student with ADHD among his peers and on classroom climate. According to outcomes, a teaching assistant has a positive influence on student’s status within a classroom and on his relationships with peers.
