Annotation	The diploma work deals with the evaluation of life in the children’s home, more exactly how the life is assessed by the residents themselves. The work aims to find out whether these residents perceive any opinion of the surrounding people on themselves, possibly what impact this opinion might have. The work is divided into a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is concerned with the theme of family, its functions and disorders. The work focuses on the family system and policy in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part also deals with a legislative relating to a children’s home, its risks and possibilities that are affected, and 65 children and staff in the children’s homes. The last chapter of the theoretical part is concerned with the views and opinions about the children’s homes and their possible consequences. The second part of the diploma work deals with a quantitative research.
