Longitudinal research of gifted pupils - partial report: Qualitative and quantitative analysis of case studies

Annotation The research report presents the results of the partial research carried out as a part longitudinal research of gifted pupils. The research is focused on long-term monitoring of exceptionally cognitively gifted children and pupils (hereafter referred to as gifted), description of their characteristics, their family and wider social background and their educational paths. The research is designed as a mixed longitudinal combined longitudinal and cross - sectional procedures. It is based on qualitative and quantitative analysis of casuistic data obtained from 15 psychologists of pedagogical-psychological counseling centers. The information sources on which the case studies are based are anamnestic data, records of psychological and special pedagogical examinations, observations at school, interviews with parents and teachers. The sample includes a total of 39 case reports from ISCED - 0 to ISCED - 3 levels. Girls account for 20.5%. The criterion for inclusion in a set of case reports is the level of the client's intellectual abilities in at least one of the basic intellectual components equal to or higher IQ 130.
