Analysis of educational process of pupils with severe and profound intellectual and developmental disabilities

Annotation	The dissertation deals with the educational process of pupils with severe and profound intellectual and developmental disabilities in Slovakia. The subject of the research was an analysis and description of a group of pupils with severe and profound intellectual and developmental disabilities educated in primary schools as well as a comparison of selected determinants of educational process of pupils with severe and profound intellectual and developmental disabilities in special primary schools and in primary schools. Theoretical part of this dissertation delineates terminological, pedagogical-psychological, philosophical and methodological grounds of the researched issue. It analyses a pupils with severe and profound intellectual and developmental disability with respect to their special educational needs from historical point of view up to the present. It analyses a system, conditions and specifics of approach to education of pupils with severe and profound intellectual and developmental disabilities in both Slovak and international context. The empirical part of this dissertation consists of two researches which were based on quantitative method. In the first research, technique of questionnaire was used. A teacher educating pupils with severe and profound intellectual and developmental disabilities in primary schools was used as an analytical sample. In the second research we used technique of indirect structured observation and here a pupil with severe intellectual disability was used as an analytical sample. The results of both researches are statistically processed and clearly presented in tables, figures and graphs
