This thesis is devoted to clarify relationships of competencies of emotional intelligence (EI) with forms of externalised problem behaviour, attitudes towards antisocial behaviour, with coping strategies and with some indicators of family environment in sample of early adolescents. Its aim is also to highlight the variables which have significant impact on level of EI abilities and risk behaviour. Furthermore the work examines the differences in level of understanding of emotions, preference of coping strategies and participation in antisocial behaviour in 2 culturally different groups of early adolescents in Slovakia and South Africa. Lastly, research focuses on obtaining information on possibility of increasing EI abilities by applying intervention programme with preadolescents, aimed at improving individual EI competencies. |
