Truly healthy school - Transformation of school meals

Annotation Approximately 80% of children, pupils and students in Czech schools, eat in school cafeterias. There is growing scientific evidence that eating better is associated with better outcomes in school, improved cognitive functions, better ability to maintain attention and a number of other positive features of the behavior of pupils and students, including better attendance and synergies. This text tries to describe as accurately as possible the current state of food served in school cafeterias. Furthermore, the project will have a healthy school, which is based on the experience of a similar program in the UK. Here it was found that this program has positive aspects that improve pupil achievement improves children's health, brings benefits for local entrepreneurs. Truly healthy school program is a comprehensive, fully integrated into the life of the whole school, which aims to create a culture of valuing food, savoring them and learning about food. Schools participating in the program really healthy school, the school canteen buy raw materials from local farmers, bakers and butchers, organize trips to local farms, food integrate the topic into the curriculum, the school held on farmers' markets.
