Philosophy for children as means of preventing socio-pathological phenomena in extracurricural activities

Annotation The aim of this paper is to introduce the program Philosophy for Children, which is not in the Czech Republic too familiar, while in a number of foreign countries is used for its diverse content and suitability for children from pre-school to the senior school age. This program is focused on fostering critical, creative and caring thinking childern, as means preventing socio-pathological phenomena. The first part describes the work of an after-school care centre, and also briefly describes socio-pathological phenomena that can arise in an after-school care centre. The second part introduces Philosophy for childern as well as the Canadian program of La Traverée focused on violence preventiv. The third part examines the possibilities of using the program as means of violence preventiv in an after-school care centre.
