School in the 21st century, the transformation of school functions

Annotation The aim of this thesis is to analyze the social and economic conditions in the 21st century and the transformation of functions of the school. The first part deals with definitions and functions of the school division. To further the purposes of this work are selected primarily educational function and qualification. Further work is dedicated to the development of school history from the first schools until 21 century and the social changes affecting the functioning of schools. Attention also focuses on the present educational system of the Czech Republic, strategic documents and position of the Czech education worldwide. The conclusion outlines possible future development of schools and a summary of the findings.
