The advantages and risks of the schooling of students with mild intellectual disabilities in common primary schools

Annotation In this diploma thesis, the author deals with the schooling of students with mild intellectual disabilities and tries to find the advantages and risks of pupils´ education of these pupils in common primary schools. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part describes the characteristics of students with mild intellectual disabilities, learning opportunities of these students, current legislation of the basic education of pupils with the special educational needs. The thesis also provides information about the comparison of the Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education with amendments modifying the education of students with mild mental disabilities and informs about possible changes in readiness of teachers, educational assessments of pupils with mild intellectual disabilities and social climate in the classroom. In the practical part, the author examined how would inclusive/ integrative education of students with mild intellectual disabilities in standard schools be perceived by teachers at standard primary schools and practical elementary schools, parents, pupils and the pupils themselves of special classes at elementary and practical schools
