Annotation This Bachelor thesis focuses on the burnout syndrome in the teaching profession. The theoretical part describes the personality of a teacher, the competence of the teaching profession and professional strain, which a teacher undergoes. A very important role is played by the teacher´s temperament which also influences their behaviour outwardly in the school environment. In this bachelor thesis theories of temperament are divided according to the typologies of famous psychologists. The following part deals with the own definition of the burnout syndrome from the beginning of its development, in particular from its development, symptoms and diagnosis of the burnout syndrome to prevention of the burnout. The practical part demonstrates a cognitive research which is aimed at the teacher and their profession. According to this questionnaire, it was found out for this thesis if the burnout syndrome occurred to the researched teachers during their teaching profession.
